Fairy tale Friday #17

Just a few more days to go before the Teddy Bo Towers annual Halloween Ball, as you can imagine things are starting to get very hectic here. Everybody has their own jobs to do, which as well as making cards is keeping us all very busy.

Jill and Helle have managed to make gallons of Potato Vodka, Turnip Tequila and Broad Bean Brandy, they have found a good hiding place to keep it safe, otherwise it wouldn’t last very long around here, Edna and Maritha have searched high and low, but haven’t been able to find it yet. There was a bit of a kerfuffle a day or two ago when Jill and Helle found Edna under Helle's bed.

Edna and Maritha had thought that Jill and Helle might discuss their hiding place whilst in their room or even talk in their sleep and let it slip, so they camped out under the beds. Unfortunately Helle was woken in the night by a loud snoring sound, she roused Jill and they realised it was coming from underneath Helle’s bed, they lifted up the covers to find Edna fast asleep and snoring away, lying in a pile of empty Haggis Crisp wrappers and cold soggy tea bags! They dragged her out from under the bed, which woke her up, she realised that she had been caught and immediately started covering her tracks by saying that she thought she had heard woodworm in Helle’s headboard, and was staking it out just to make sure. Suddenly they all heard a noise coming from behind them, (Maritha had been woken up by the noise and crawled out from under Jill's bed to see what was happening, she had white anti-wrinkle cream slathered all over her face, which had picked up all the fluff from under the bed, two slices of cucumber stuck over her eyes, (the cream had dried around them and practically cemented them into place) her white floor length nightgown was flowing around her, and as she tried to straighten up she let out a screech of pain), Helle, Jill and Edna took one look and fled down the stairs screaming and shaking.

We all ran out of our rooms to see what was happening and followed them downstairs to the sitting room. They told us that the Towers were haunted, that they had seen a ghostly apparition that had a hairy face and weird eyes edged in green circles and it made the most terrifying wailing noise you have ever heard.
Just then Maritha walked in, (she had been to the bathroom and cleaned herself up before she came down, so nobody realised that she had been the ghostly apparition that they were talking about) and asked what had been going on!
Everyone finally calmed down and we all went back to bed, Jill and Helle moving into one of the empty bedrooms (as they were too scared to go back to their own room) and completely forgetting what had woken them up in the first place.
Edna managed to sneak into their empty room and get her electric kettle and teapot from under Helle’s bed.

Tammy has been decorating the ballroom, she is in her element making rubber bats and witches hats, Kathy is making shabby chic skeletons, although they all look like they have been battered and are covered in fractures, I definitely think she is overdoing the crackle paint!

Renee is busily making tables shaped as coffins and gravestones, Edna who wasn't aware of this was most upset when Renee asked her if she could measure her up for a coffin and what epitaph would she like written on her tombstone! Once Edna realised what Renee was doing she told her she would like this message on her tombstone:
Here lies Edna in this hole
She liked dancing round a pole!

Hazel has been helping Claire make Halloween costumes for the camels, as Claire doesn’t have time to make them all on her own and Hazel is better at sewing than Claire is. We are not allowed to see their costumes, as she wants to surprise us, but Tammy Louise who sneaks around with her camera, taking pictures when you least expect it, has managed to snap this picture of Cuthbert, (Claire’s favourite camel) trying his on - he doesn't look very impressed does he?

and also this one of Camilla, whose outfit was made by Tammy.

Nicole and Nela are helping Gayle prepare the food, they have made tiny bratwurst sausages that look just like fingers, a big pot of sauerkraut which we are calling shredded skin, and they have even made some with red cabbage, which is listed as chopped muscles, their Black Forest Gateau is listed as Mud and Blood Clots cake! Gayle and Liz are shaping Haggis into little balls and then painting them with food colouring to look like mouldy rotted eyeballs, and they’ve made a pea puree which is going by the name of snot jam! They also made a big pot of porridge, which will be called creamed maggots!
Hope our guests enjoy the food!!!

Debbie has been practising some Halloween songs, we have to wait for the ball before we are allowed to hear them, but I believe she will be singing Monster Mash, Thriller, and The Time warp. I did manage to catch a snippet of Ghostbusters yesterday, it sounded like she was singing;-
When there’s something wrong in your navy hood, who you gonna call…. Toast dusters?!?!?!?!

Everyone has been far too busy to get up to any real mischief, I hope they're not saving it up for the ball on Monday!
I’ll let you know how things go next week.

Let's take a look at the fabulous creations the girls have managed to make in between their Halloween duties.

I got a little carried away! I coloured 4 of TeddyBo 124 in different colours and just stuck them onto plain card and added coordinating colours around the edges. I love them as they are so different from my own normal style.

I´ve played with TeddyBea_162 and I´ve coloured with Prismas
I´ve used for the dress the paperpiecing technique
for the base I´ve used watercolor paper and wiped it with Distress Ink Antique Linen
also I´ve used SU cardstock and the wonderful backing paper is by Maja Design
sentiment stamp by hÄnglar
Magnolia cutting die *heart swirl*
Martha Stewart punches
Embellies: lace, staples, rhinestones, flowers

Hello everyone! I got this cute round frame with a concaved piece of glass in it from the thrift store here in town, it was .25cents! So when i saw the teddybo_081 i knew i had to use it in that frame! I used the october afternoon campfire paper with the stars for the back ground and then colored the teddybo/bea with my promarkers, used pop dots to make them 3D, added some stickles to show off the moon and the glow on them from the moon! I cut up strips of card stock to look like grass. And added some basic grey letters. I think it turned out sweet. It also reminds me of a norman rockwell painting....with the boy and girl on the swing looking at the moon. I painted that in art class one year in high school! lol. Just thought i would share this! Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.
