Fairy tale Friday #18

Well the Halloween ball went with a bang and I mean that quite literally!!!

It started off very well, we had lots of guests, mainly family and friends and a few of the locals. The ballroom looked fabulous all decorated up with rubber bats, shabby chic skeletons, little knitted ghosties and lots and lots of cobwebs, (although they were all natural as nobody has time to dust around here, too busy making cards, alcohol, singing or knitting, no time for cleaning!)

The menu looked exciting, witches fingers (bratwurst, coloured green and a slither of almond added for the nail), eye balls floating in blood,(haggis meatballs in tomato sauce), lots of shredded skin (sauerkraut), Creamed maggots (porridge), snot cakes (fairy cakes with green buttercream), the list went on and on, we even had little mummies made with bratwurst wrapped in  bread dough and glow in the dark drinks and jellies, (just add tonic water instead of tap water and use one of those ultra violet lights, you know the kind they have in night clubs, and the tonic water makes things glow in the dark)!

We did have a bit of trouble trying to get the water into the design teams drinks, they don’t like their alcohol diluted.

Chrissy turned up again from New Zealand with her dog Harry (they’ll go anywhere for a party) they picked up Kirsty-Anne on the way too.
Harry looked fab in his Darth Vader costume.

Chrissy came as Princess Leia she had used Raffia to make her plaited side buns and her lightsaber was a torch with a loo roll painted blue on the end (if only she had put as much effort into her own outfit as she did Harry’s). Kirsty Anne was dressed as a witch, although I think she must be a friend of Tammy's because her outfit was made entirely of rubber and she carried a whip instead of a broomstick.

Edna decided she would dress up as Catwoman and had made herself a catsuit using only old fishnet stockings! She looked more like a bag of prunes wrapped in one of those net bags that fruit comes in from the supermarket, and as she had used only fishnet stockings there was quite a lot of her hanging out through the nets, quite a scary sight actually!

Claire had knitted herself a very, very long white scarf, wrapped herself up in it and came as a mummy.
Gayle being Scottish had decided to come as the Loch Ness Monster, she had strapped a couple of haggis to her back and a fish tank full of water to her front (supposed to be the Loch LOL!).

The party was going swimmingly, people and camels were happily dancing away, the vodka, brandy and tequila where flowing and there was a great atmosphere.

Debbie dressed as a set of bagpipes (don’t ask!, think it was something to do with being musical!!!) got up to sing her first song which was Thriller, by Michael Jackson, which started off
It’s toast me midnight,
And some pink weevil’s swelling in the pork,

It should have been
It’s close to midnight
And something evil’s lurking in the dark.

For the part that goes ---'The foulest stench is in the air', we got ---'Flying dentures in the air' which funnily enough was exactly what was happening to Edna’s teeth at that moment (due to her flinging her head around too wildly when dancing).

Debbie finally reached the end of the song and everyone breathed a sigh of relief, but she immediately went into her next song which was Monster Mash and this was when the trouble started.

Tammy had made herself a rubber Batman outfit, but too much Turnip Tequila and Haggis eyeballs had played havoc with her digestion and she was suffering badly with wind, and as there was no way for it to escape from the rubber body suit, it gradually built up inside and inflated the suit.

When Debbie started singing...
They did the Mash They did the Monster Mash’, as
‘They did the bash, they did the long hair bash’, Edna who was by now so drunk, that as well as no longer having her teeth in, had also lost her wig, and her fishnet catsuit had so many rips in it she was practically naked, took the words literally and started going around bashing long haired people with one of the lances from the suits of armour dotted around the ballroom.

When she accidently caught Cuthbert the camel in the hump with the lance, Claire can-canned over and gave her a high kick to the chin, Edna fell backwards and as she did so the tip of the lance pierced a hole in Tammy’s batman outfit. The pressure of the foul smelling gas escaping from the suit, thrust Tammy up into the air and she flew around the room like a balloon, that has been blown up and then had the air let out.

Unfortunately she knocked one of the candles out of the chandelier as she whizzed past, and unbeknown to anyone it landed amongst the bottles of Broad Bean Brandy.

Everyone fled from the ballroom because the stench coming from Tammy was overpowering and people were feeling nauseous, (we  were also scared she would land on us).
We all congregated on the lawn.

Tammy’s suit finally deflated, and luckily she had a nice soft landing in the creamed maggots.

She came out to the lawn to tell us it was OK to come back in when we heard an almighty BOOM!. The mixture of the candle, the alcohol and Tammy’s gas had caused an enormous explosion, the ballroom had blown up and as we were standing on the lawn we were being showered with porridge, Haggis, Sauerkraut, Potato Vodka, Turnip Tequila and Broad bean brandy.
Every one legged it for safety, except for Edna who was running around with her mouth wide open trying to catch the drops of alcohol as they fell!!!

Suffice to say that was the end of the party!

We now have the builders in repairing the damage, Edna is very excited at the sight of all those big... strong... scaffolding poles!!!  if you’ve been following the tales then you can all guess why LOL! We have hidden all the alcohol, radios and CD’s so hopefully we can get the work finished without Edna scaring the workmen off by pole dancing!

***No camels or dogs where harmed in the telling of this tale***

Luckily today's cards had been safely stashed away before the blast and survived intact, unlike Edna's dentures which have been blown to smithereens. I hope she gets some more soon as we are all having to take turns to chew her food for her, before she can eat it!
