SO....what's new this week?!

Now let's take at this week's fabulous creations from the DT and 2 of our GUEST DESIGNERS for the month.

For my card I have used Pergamano paper and traced TeddyBea_172 with white pen, I have then used my embossing tool to emboss sections. I then punched out lots of snowflakes in different white papers and added just a few silver ones too. Inside the card I have added a foam snowflake with the following poem on it - Snow is falling to the ground, A crystal chill is all around, Frosty clouds are in the air with snowflakes drifting everywhere.
I love the simplicity of the card but found it a real challenge to use only white!

Following the lovely Jill's tut, I made a book card for this challenge.

FairyD Santa
Prisma pencils - French Grey
Martha Stewart edge punch
Festive greenery strip die (Tim Holtz)
Asst. Sizzix and Marianne design dies
Spellbinder Holiday tags die
Inkwell stamp
Vintage Shabby papers (Tim Holtz)
SeeD sentiment
Pumice stone distress ink
Like Claire I found it hard to keep to a total white theme but I tried to keep all the embellies white. Hope that counts!

AJ (Guest Designer)

"Hi everyone I'm Aj. I live on the most remote inhabited place in the UK.. The tiny island of Fair Isle up in the Shetland islands, with the other half, our 2 youngest girls, some cows, lots of sheep, 2 shetland ponies, an Icelandic horse, 3 cats, 2 dogs and a puckle hens.

I have the envious position of crafts being my work so spend my days immersed in making various inky and sticky messes while cosied up in my studio surrounded by lots of papers, ribbons and all other crafty ingrediants.

I love playing with Teddy Bo & Bea, for me these loveable bears are my downtime, I pull out the pencils and blending sticks and gone are the stresses of life, forgotton are the Force 11 gales currently battling with the remainder of my vegetable patch, its just me.. the bears.. some good fiddle music... hot chocolate (its not me its Bea !! she has to have marshmellows in it too.. piggy bear..)"

I've used white TEDDYBEA_003 and layered her onto embossed core'dinations and silver mirri card. I liked it so much I changed the embossing folders and made several more using the different coloured images and card to layer them onto

Kelly (Guest Designer)

My card is coloured using Copics.  I decided to go for the white theme, using the bear as the colour.  The white background card is Kanban embossed snowflake card.  The snowflake is a wooden embellishment glittered and dotted with white pearl paint.  The ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons.  The sentiment is computer generated.

"My name is Kelly, i am 29 and a married mum to 3. I started cardmaking about 18 months ago, some say it is a hobby, i say it is a passion! I love to colour and use Promarkers, Spectrum Noirs, Copics and pencils. I can sit for hours colouring!! My favourite style of card is cute and girly although i do like to try different techniques. If you would like to follow me please do so here at I look forward to visiting some wonderful new blogs."

Mojo Monday - Snow

Its that time of the week again for a little inspiration.

This week I have chosen Snow because with the lead up to Christmas I hope we might get some - I am a BIG kid and love nothing more than going out and playing in it!!!

Snow is a form of precipitation within the Earth's atmosphere in the form of crystalline water ice, consisting of a multitude of snowflakes that fall from clouds. Since snow is composed of small ice particles, it is a granular material. It has an open and therefore soft structure, unless packed by external pressure. Snowflakes come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Types which fall in the form of a ball due to melting and refreezing, rather than a flake, are known as graupel, ice pellets or snow grains. Snowfall amount and its related liquid equivalent precipitation amount are determined using a variety of different rain gauges

Fairy Tale Friday #21

I may have mentioned last Friday that it was Edna’s birthday over the weekend and we were going to have a big celebration, including a belated one for Gayle.

We started off with a birthday breakfast, all the girls made the effort to get up early and cook a huge breakfast  for both Edna and Gayle, partly as a birthday surprise but also because Gayle normally cooks the breakfast and we always have either Haggis on toast or Haggis Krispies, (similar to Rice Krispies but made from Haggis). We have always wondered how she got the little balls of Haggis to puff up, but last week I actually caught her making them. She breaks off little pieces of Haggis, rolls them into balls, and then sticks a straw in each one and blows into them until she is red in the face and they have puffed up!!! which explains why they always taste of garlic the morning after we have had spaghetti Bolognese (made with minced Haggis of course) for tea the night before.

After breakfast we all gave Gayle and Edna their presents, they both got lots of smellies and sparkly things, but a couple of the girls had made gifts too. Claire had knitted Gayle some little woolly covers for the pipes on her set of bagpipes and she had used her left over wool to make Edna a couple of new wigs and a set of false eyelashes, Tammy Louise managed to get a couple of pics of Edna trying them on.
What do you think? Which one is your favourite?

Renee G had made them both one of her famous survival kits, Gayle’s contained Haggis soup and deep fried Mars Bars and Edna’s contained a pack of Tena lady’s, and a T-shirt with the words Your Boyfriend Wants Me! Emblazoned across the front.

Jill and Helle had made them each a selection of their now infamous alcoholic beverages and Edna being Edna decided now was as good a time as any to sample them, by lunch time we were all well and truly sozzled and decided to have a couple of hours sleep in the afternoon before we started partying for real.

The party started with Debbie singing a song for each of the birthday girls. Gayle had chosen Mull of Kintyre by Paul McCartney, instead of singing Mull of Kintyre, oh mist rolling in from the sea, Debbie sang Bullet in tyre, we kissed rolling round in our tea!!!  And if you read last week’s tale, you will know that Edna had requested Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, which in Debbie's version is Soup on jelly, frogs with lipstick, eggs are quite ferocious!!!

The potato vodka, turnip tequila and broad bean brandy were flowing, Jill who by now was usually asleep under the table was actually on the table doing the cancan with Claire. Edna was shouting at Hazel who was in charge of the music, asking her to put on a bouncy song, and getting quite angry when she didn't know what song she meant, finally Edna sorted through the CD’s, pulled one out and pointed to one of the tracks, it was at this point we realised she meant a Beyonce song. Gayle and Liz were quietly sitting in the corner discussing the best recipe for Haggis curry, Gayle wanted to put porridge oats in it, Liz did not!

Gayle decided to give us a tune on the bagpipes, and we all got up and started doing the conga around the room when, suddenly, the doorbell rang. Imagine our surprise when we found a gang of hunky men on the doorstep. It seems every one of us had decided to surprise Edna with a male stripper for her birthday, and we had each secretly booked one, not knowing that everyone else was doing the same thing.

They put on a great show, but we had a few problems when they got Edna up to remove their G strings with her teeth, as she had taken her teeth out a couple of hours ago and we couldn’t find them. Helle jumped up and offered to do it on her behalf, but Edna was having none of it and firmly told Helle she could manage just fine with her gums and at least she wouldn't accidently bite them, the worst she could do was give them a nasty suck!!!

Tammy Louise managed to get quite an arty shot of the boys before they left, poor Sonny and Quentin (towards the far end) had lost their helmets as Edna had squeezed a boob into each, stuck them in place with double sided tape and was strutting around the room twirling the feathers that were dangling from them and asking all the boys if she could tickle their fancy  - oooeeer missus!

They made a run for it at this point and the last we saw of them was a dozen cute, little bare backsides legging it down the drive.

The next morning we had to get Kathy to the airport as she was going home for Thanksgiving. We had ordered a mini-bus so that we could all go with her and see her off, but for some reason it didn’t turn up. Kathy was starting to panic as she was worried she wouldn’t get there in time to catch her plane. Suddenly Claire jumped up and shouted “I have an idea!” and went running off, she turned up ten minutes later with all the camels saddled up, and told us to jump on. We had to tie Edna onto her camel as she was still very drunk from the party the night before, not helped by the fact that she had decided to have a pint of vodka with her breakfast! We strapped Kathy’s luggage onto the backs of some of the spare camels (we do have thirty after all).
Gayle had made a picnic of Haggis sandwiches, Haggis sausage rolls, Kentucky fried Haggis and Haggis Liver Pate and oat cakes, as she thought we may get hungry on the journey and Jill and Helle had filled everyone’s flasks with left over vodka, brandy and tequila.

We must have looked a right bunch, rolling up to the airport on our camels, especially as by this time Edna had passed out and was dangling upside down from the saddle of her camel, swinging backwards and forwards as the camel ambled along. We didn’t really care though as we managed to get to the airport just in time for Kathy to catch her flight! hooray!

Now let's take a look at the fabulous creations made by the girls this week.

Had to make another "survival kit"! Finally got my Echo Park, winter park papers and i had to use them. A friend of mine wanted another kit made with this paper, as we both have been eyeing it! I got the tin at the thrift store and added the buttons to the lid as a "knob" and it holds the teddybo_151 image on a little tag.

colored with promarkers, popping off the tag with 3d dots. I added these cute snow flake baubles my friend sent to me, how cute they are! added another cozy to the cup for a bit of fun! 3 kinds of hot cider will warm someone right up!

Here's my card, I hope you like it, the sentiment on the back I bought (ummm no my little Daddy did but he doesn't know it lol!) on Saturday while shopping with my Mum :0) I think it's just perfect for the card.
