Fairy Tale Friday #27

Last week I mentioned that Edna had left us and moved to Vegas to become a professional pole dancer at the Wriggly Writhers Exotic Dancing Club, (pop in and see her if you are ever in the area) well we have been quite lucky and quickly picked up someone new to take her place, and this is how it came about.

After we dropped Edna off at the airport, we came back to the towers and decided to do a spring clean, we all rolled our sleeves up and got stuck in.  We got through a lot of Broad Bean Brandy that day let me tell you, it’s brilliant for removing grease, Tim Holtz distress ink stains, varnish, paint, make-up, hair, tooth enamel, rust, the lining of your stomach, basically anything it touches.
We’d finally finished and had settled down for a cup of hot oat tea and a couple of Haggis chip cookies when we heard a groaning sound coming from underneath the sofa, on further investigation we found Kirsty-Anne, still in her hula skirt and coconut shell bra and feeling rather the worse for wear, she had passed out after drinking too much Turnip Tequila, (a drink she is quite partial to), and we knew fate had found us our newest design team member.

Unfortunately Kirsty-Anne didn’t agree and wanted to go home, so we suggested she stay and have a couple of glasses of Turnip Tequila before she set off into the cold snowy night in her hula skirt and coconut bra, we soon had her drunk and it wasn’t long before she passed out again, it was at this point that we concocted our evil plan, mwahahahaha!!!!!  <Evil villainous laugh>

The next morning as she nursed a very painful hangover and was talking about heading off home again once her headache had eased a little, Gayle told her not to be ridiculous, had she even looked out of the window this morning. When the pain had eased enough for her to lift her head off the table and glance towards the window all she could see was a blanket of snow, reaching right up to the top of the window.
Gayle gently explained to her that it had snowed heavily all night and that we were snowed in, the last time we had listened to the radio the weatherman had said it was likely to be a couple of weeks before it stopped snowing and the best thing to do was stay indoors and keep warm, then we had lost the signal due to the bad weather and we were now completely cut off from the outside world.
Kirsty-Anne became quite upset so we told her that Turnip Tequila would make her feel better and just kept filling up her glass until she passed out again. Once we had gotten her into bed, we went outside and took all sheets of paper (which we had spent all night sticking tubs and tubs of polar white flower soft to) down from the windows, carefully folded them up and put them away so that we could go through the whole process again the next morning.

After a couple of days she began to feel a bit better about the situation and decided to join us in a card-making session, as she got to know us a bit more and started having some fun, we began weaning her off the Turnip Tequila, and one day out of the blue she announced that she would like to move in with us after all, which was such a relief, because the paper over the windows was starting to get very tattered and torn and now that she wasn’t quite so drunk and could see a bit clearer we knew it wouldn’t be long before she realised what we had been doing.

We had a few drinks that night to welcome her to the team and when we got up the next morning it seems there had been an unexpected rainstorm during the night and it had washed all the snow away - nudge, nudge, wink, wink, a nod's as good as an elbow to a blind bat!!!

Edna has been gone for a while now and although we have Kirsty-Anne to replace her, we still miss her. The other day we telephoned her and begged her to come home, but she refused point blank! It seems she is having far too much fun in Vegas, throwing her legs around a huge pole every night and strutting her stuff on the dance floor. She also told us, the club has a group of male strippers called the Gyrating Grandpa’s, and that she had hit it off straight away with the one who dresses as a cowboy, his stage name is Wrinkly Willy, the Raunchiest Rancher in the West, and it seems Edna has taken a fancy to his very large pistol which he swings around a lot when he is dancing!!! She thinks she’s in lust love, she’s not sure if he feels the same way, but he does let her play with his pistol occasionally so she’s thinks he may fancy her too!

We’ve also had a visit from the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) this week thanks to Hazel and her black cat, but I have waffled on enough for today so will tell you all about that next week.
