One of Gayle's friends (a non crafting one - shock horror) is pregnant, and due to give birth in a couple of months. So Gayle decided to have a competition to see who could make the nicest card, and Gayle's friend could pick the winner. The winner would get haggis curry on the Saturday night, instead of Saturdays usual feast of haggis fajitas. Now everyone agrees (other than Gayle) that haggis fajitas are not nice, and that a curry is the better option ('just'), so the girls were psyched for the competition.
Now it's not been unknown for the girls to cheat when they are after something they want. Gayle hinted that her pal was due to have a little girl, but unknown to the others Gayle knew it was to be a boy. Sonia raced up the stairs and got to the pink paint and materials well before everyone else even thought about it. She took enough for her card, and hid the rest under her bed.
Donna decided that to make hers stand out, she'd make it bigger than all the others. In fact so big that it would require a van to deliver it. She got some A4 card and started taping it together until it stood towering above her, wobbling like Jill after half a bottle of turnip vodka. In fact to ensure it stood up properly, she hammered out the door frame from the kitchen and using gaffa tape, stuck the card to the door frame. Her card now needs two people to lift it, and a security fence around it to ensure no one is under it if it falls.
Meanwhile Claire decided to make a concertina style card. Normally very easy to do, but she decided to use an actual concertina for the card. This meant she didn't have to put in a musical devise to play nursery rhymes inside the card, but could play the card herself. Sounding like a strangled cat, she set about composing her song.
All was quiet in Teddy Bo Towers as the girls beavered away on their works of art. Only Gayle was using the blue, and she would have won the competition, and gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those pesky girls listening in on her phone conversations. They overheard her talking to her pal asking if she had needed any nice new blue blankets for the baby boy.
Now revenge is a dish best served cold. ..........Gayle better watch her back this week!!
Once the competition was over the girls set about making some new cards for this week..x
