Fairy Tale Friday

Tuesday evening was a nightmare in Teddy Bo Towers. Some of the girls were feeling that they were moving from being young to being classed as grown ups, and they demanded that they fight the feeling of getting older. It was then that Debbie realised that Wednesday 10th October was National bring your Teddy Bear to Work day and so the girls decided that they'd arrive at their desks in the morning with all their bears so that they can show them what they do in work.

Some of the bears sat on the girls bedside tables, and others could be found at the bottom of cupboards or under beds. Some were in good condition, but others had seen better days. The girls decided that they had to make them look their best for the next day, so sewing needles and thread, knitting needles and wool, different textiles and the Tower's only sewing machine (pedal powered) were pulled from the back of the storage cupboard and set up in the living room so the girls could have a good chat and watch the TV.

And that's where the girls craving for crafting perfection came in.   Claire spent hours knitting and re-knitting a little black woollen mini dress for little Zelda the stuffed bunny rabbit. Gayle's bear, 'Lion Doggie', (this was actually her son's old teddy....we're not too sure why he called him that) needed a new arm sewn on after he lost it in a house move many years ago.

The problem was that that the girls worked and worked and talked and talked, it was 3:00 AM before Gayle, who can sleep at the drop of a hat, suddenly woke up, looked at the clock and said "time for bed girls. There's work to be done in the morning".

The girls trooped off to bed, cuddled up with their bears and bunnies and even a dragon !!!, and each of them had happy dreams and didn't think anything about getting older.....the strange calmness and lack of shenanigans was great for their card-making...but has left me wondering what going to happen next!!!!!  :o/
We've also lost Jill this week.....she went out for the shopping and must have taken a wrong turn somewhere in the village!!!  She's lost her way...but we're hopeful that she'll find her way back to us some day and we want her to know we'll miss her like mad and the door is always open....well, she already knows that as she's the one that's normally trying to close it as the draft is really bad for her sciatica!!! ;o)  THANK YOU JILL...XXXX
