Fairy Tale Friday

Good Morning everyone.  Another, filled week at the Towers!!

The Woman's Institute did their best, but it leaked out and unfortunately all the girls at Teddy Bo Towers found out about the Charity Treasure Hunt that was taking place on Sunday Afternoon. It started at 12:00 noon, with teams of two setting out every ten minutes to find clues that'll lead them to a final destination, the winners being the team that gets there in the least time.

The look of dismay from the women from the WI was plain to see as the girls turned up, half empty bottles of turnip vodka being passed around.

The girls split into teams with Gayle and Debbie racing off first through the village looking for clues to the next location. Now we've already said how competitive Gayle is, but she's not the only one. The others started over the next hour, and ran through the village looking for clues to the final location, but Gayle decided to use her evil creative mind, and modify the clues.   Claire  and Donna arrived at clue number two to find that they had to take the bus to Edinburgh to collect a note in the Castle. Now Donna decided to take the note with her as this would mean the others wouldn't be able to find the next clue. They both got on the next bus out of the village.

In fact when Maritha and Jill arrived on the scene they couldn't find any clue . They started to wander around in an ever widening circle until they ended up at the lake. And that's where they accidentally found clue number four. They were looking for clue number two, but they looked at each other shrugged their shoulders and went off in search of clue number five.

It had taken Maritha and Jill so long to find the clue by the lake, that the other girls who were looking for clue number two saw them in the distance making notes. All remaining teams raced down to get that clue.

And so the battle continued, clue five was outside the village pub (there was a big delay at this point). Clue six was in the corner shop (another delay) and clue seven was at the playground which was situated on the outskirts of the village. Now by this time all the girls were a bit drunk, Gayle had realised that the other teams had skipped several clues, and both Gayle and Debbie were now last. They both decided that they needed to catch up, and when they saw a trail of artists staggering through the playground, they sneaked in behind them searching for the next clue.

Meanwhile, all the WI members were sitting in the church hall where they were having their local craft fair. Safe in the knowledge that the bunch of hooligans from Teddy Bo Towers were safely out of the way looking for a clue that didn't exist.
Apparently Claire and Donna were last spotted running around the base of Edinburgh Castle looking for yellow sticky notes with clues to the next location. Hopefully they'll make it back in time for next weeks story.

I fancied doing something different this week and wanted to do something I've never done before.  So whilst wandering Pinterest I found this card  -
I liked the idea but wanted to work it so it was the same size as my usual ones so using just the idea I came up with this card. I'm not sure whether this will be a Christmas card or not so I have left it sentiment free. It doesn't show in the photo but her dress and hat are green.

Welcome to Mojo Monday, last night I looked at my embossing folders and thought there must be more ways to use them other than just using them as backings. So I ended up looking on Pinterest (as you do!) and came across these ideas

I love the santa one!
Have you any good ideas for using them?
I'd really love to hear them :0)

Fairy Tale Friday

Now life can be very hectic at Teddy Bo Towers. It's the 'can do' attitude the girls have . A 'throw away' comment from one girl is a challenge to another, and this is what happened after watching the Military Wives Choir on TV.
Now Gayle can sing, but as far as anyone who lives near Teddy Bo Towers is concerned, she's the only one. So the neighbours packed up and went on holiday when he heard Gayle leading the Design Team girls in a rendition of 'We are the Champions' by Queen.
Now Gayle is very competitive, so even before starting, she's booked the girls to sing at the Church service on Sunday. Which was only three days away. They needed to fill fifteen minutes, so a repertoire of four songs was required. That was the first challenge.
Other than Abba songs, the DT girls don't no any popular music. They have piles of CD's in the house, but it's usually only Abba that's played. So after Gayle tried in vain to get them to sing a Queen song, she admitted defeat and picked four Abba songs.
Many of the girls were tone deaf. And that was ok for Gayle as the only tone each of the girls could sing was slightly different to the next one. Between them, Gayle could just about get them to murder the songs she's picked.
For their practice, Waterloo was up first, followed by Super Trooper. Next came Dancing Queen followed by Mama Mia (Sadly the researcher for this Fairy Tale Friday had to Google a list of Abba songs so they could list four).
The three days flew past, a mixture of Abba music, sore throats and turnip vodka (same as most weekends in Teddy Bo Towers), and the girls were as ready as they ever would be to perform.
They marched into the church in single file, led by Gayle to the gallery where they would sing from. These girls are well known in the village, and people on the aisles started to move away from the girls, as far as they could. Chaos usually arrived with these girls, and no one was taking chances. One of the church goers was heard to say that it's the first time the minister has ever worn a hard hat when he stepped up to begin the service.
Waterloo begun, the church collection plate was passed round which contained sets of ear plugs for the audience. They would not fully protect them from the nightmare, but it would take the edge off the pain.
Waterloo ended to rapturous applause. Not because of the singing ability, but that it had ended. Supper Trooper came next, and the volume was so great, cracks started to appear in the church roof. Dust fell around the congregation, and they started to shift in their seats. A couple of pigeons that had been nesting in the eaves of the church decided it was time to leave.
The minister realised that the next song was Dancing Queen, and in his panic stopped the choir and suggested they take it outside. The girls gladly agreed and loved the appreciative audience. However they did feel it was a bit odd to stand outside the church singing while their audience remained inside the church.
After their successful stint as a Choir, the girls are now looking for another gig. Apparently the church can't have the choir again as there is some building and repair work to do.
While we wait for the Church to re-open....the DT girls have been busy making cards....xx
